In this Build Your Own series, we will be building our own play kits with Lovevery alternatives for The Senser play kit by understanding the function of each toy. This kit is designed for infants starting at 5-6 months and primarily features playthings for Baby starting to 1) have more hand dexterity to manipulate the world, and 2) a cute one – finding their feet!

Best Lovevery Alternatives for The Senser Box
For those who just like to cut to the chase, here are the top Lovevery alternatives I recommend for The Senser play kit. However, lots more context on selected products, as well as alternative options for all budgets detailed below.

Spinning Rainbow
The spinning rainbow is a fun way for baby to practice their fine motor skills – practicing their hand eye coordination. The colorful panels and ease of spinning are very enticing. It grows with your baby as well and can be used during tummy time as well as when your little one eventually learns to sit up on their own.

The below is a high quality alternative to the Lovevery spinning rainbow. While I think the Lovevery option is more visually beautiful, the benefit of the one recommended below is that one of the panels is actually a mirror. You’ll quickly learn that babies LOVE mirrors so this is an enticing plus.
+ Full-Size Spinning Drum : 11*8*6 inch
As your young child starts to explore the world around them they will find this spinning drum fascinating. The easy rolling movement will help your child develop their arm and wrist muscles and eye hand coordination while the colours will keep your child interested.Magic Tissue Box
This tissue box is magic indeed. Lovevery designed it such that the tissues provided loop into each other so, like a regular tissue box, pulling a tissue out automatically loads the next tissue into position to be pulled out as well. In addition, the construction of this wooden box is extremely high quality. This is a top-notch Lovevery product with no good alternatives available.

If you’re missing out on the Lovevery Senser play kit, the best alternatives available are the two below. Made of cardboard or fabric, it’s a bit less sturdy but does the job. Additionally, the tissues do not “loop” into one another so it’s less of a “tissue box” and more like a box filled with tissues, if you get what I mean.
We combined everything babies love to play with in one Magic box! This box filled with 5 organza tissues, 5 textured balls & 5 feeding play cards.
Playing with our Magic Box helps baby learn about emptying & later filling containers. The soft colorful fabrics & textured balls helps toddlers develop grasping and fine motor skills while exploring color and movement. Develops emotional intelligence & imaginary play while feeding Libby with the fruits play cards.Textured Ball
This rainbow ball included in The Senser Play Kit is 100% organic cotton and has convenient ridges for baby to grasp. Playing with it will help baby with building their dexterity and coordination.

There are many alternatives available for soft balls to engage baby’s tactile sensitivity. Personally, my baby found it hard to grasp the Lovevery ball because the ridges were not deep enough. That’s why my recommendations below skew towards larger ridges and easier to grasp shapes.
Play Socks
These play socks have little bells on the end of them – so cute! In addition to making noise when baby moves his feet, the balls at the end are the perfect size for baby palms to grasp and learn to pull his socks off (not that you want to teach them that earlier than they need to…). This is a very well-designed Lovevery product – so simple and effective for it’s intended purpose.

If you’re looking for rattling socks, here are some cute options!
Tummy Time Movers
This tummy time wobbler is great to help make tummy time more enjoyable for your little one. Light but with a weighted base, it wobbles along as your baby bats at it.

Because I like multi-purpose toys, I’ve included this bath bobblers because they are bath toys, but they can also wobble outside of water.
This penguin is quite a bit bigger and heavier than the Lovevery alternative. Some prefer that and some don’t so hope this tip is helpful. The biggest benefit of this is that built-in bell inside which provides auditory feedback when Baby plays with it, in addition to the visual wobbling.
Lastly, I wanted to include this fun roly-poly mirror because babies love looking at themselves and this toy looks super fun.
There are quite a number of play things intended to make tummy time more fun. In addition to those recommended below, there are a lot of electronic options as well that have lights, play music, or have built in motors. I usually would not include them, but for babies who HATE tummy time, it’s so important to development that I am including a fun option.
‘Parts of Me’ Board Book
In my opinion, Lovevery shines with its board books and ‘Parts of Me’ is no exception. High-quality, simple, intentional photographs included in the book allow baby to focus on one body part at a time.

There is no perfect alternative, but the below book is a good choice to encourage your baby to start understanding their body.
Is this DIY Cheaper Version of Lovevery Senser Box Better?
No, I would personally purchase the Lovevery Senser Play Kit given its inclusion of high quality wooden products, especially the magic tissue box (for which there is no good alternative).
